Alejandro Saganias was born on August 10, 1957, in Villa Devoto, Buenos Aires, Argentina. From a young age, he showed a deep interest in art, exploring disciplines such as painting and sculpture. Growing up in the same home as his godfather, Dante Saganias, a renowned visual artist, he was surrounded by canvases and paints that nurtured his curiosity. His talent for drawing became evident early on, supported by his mother, a teacher, who fostered his love for art and knowledge throughout his upbringing.
Self-taught and driven, Alejandro excelled in stage design during his high school years and even taught drawing classes. After a brief stint at the School of Fine Arts, he enrolled in the National School of Ceramics while mentoring aspiring art students. Over time, he worked in ceramic workshops decorating large-scale productions and eventually established his own ceramics studio.
His foray into advertising led him to design stands, stage sets, and murals, blending artistic expression with practicality. At the age of 30, Alejandro embarked on a spiritual journey through yoga, influenced by his interest in esotericism and Eastern philosophy. A trip to India, where he claimed to have lived in a past life, deepened his understanding of yoga philosophy. This fusion of art and spirituality is evident in his paintings.
Alejandro founded the Antara Yoga School, where he has trained many instructors over its 20-year history. Today, he runs his space, Área Mística, in Villa Devoto, where he continues to paint daily. He collaborates with fashion brands on customized pieces and creates murals.
